submit your work
From now until 11:59 pm PST on May 31 (deadline extended), Some Safer Place is seeking submissions of prose, poetry, photography, visual art, and other forms of creative work from individuals aged thirteen to twenty-five who feel that their identity is a representation of intersectionality. Submissions should center on creators' experiences coming of age and learning to navigate society as an adult, with a focus on how intersectionality factors into those experiences. Please direct all submissions to somesaferplace@gmail.com. In your email, please include:
self-introduction
A brief cover letter containing your name, the name you would like you work to appear under in the anthology (you may choose to have it appear anonymously), a short third-person bio, and an optional paragraph about your identity and what intersectionality means to you.
your work
Please attach writing as either .pdf or .docx files (please send multiple pieces in a single file) and visual art as either .jpg/.jpeg or .png files. You may submit any other forms of creative work as well, as long as they can be attached to an email.
The editor aims to reply with a decision on your submission within one week; if it has been longer, feel free to query with an email. You may submit multiple times within the submission period—however, please wait until the editor responds to your submission before sending another. The editor looks forward to reading your work.
